Crystal English Sacca
A globally renowned advertising creative, Crystal is a partner at Lowercase. She co-led include our initial investments in Uber and Blue Bottle among others. When selecting and advising portfolio companies she often relies upon her experience helping outfits like Audi, Intel, Barclays, HBO, Sprint, and even Napster speak to a worldwide audience with thought-provoking wit.
Her advertising career was hallmarked by a Cannes Lion, Two Gold Cannes Cyberlions, some One Show Pencils, and a pile of ADCs, D&DADs, Kellys, Andys, Effies, Webbys, and ADDYs. She was also named an ADC Young Gun, one of AdWeek’s “Best Creatives You Don’t Know,” and has served as a judge for the One Show and the Webbys. You’ll likely recognize her “Rock Star” spot for Intel which was regarded as one of the funniest spots of the year and ultimately translated into multiple languages.
When not investing in startups, Crystal can be found designing books, websites, product labels, teaching yoga, advising non-profits, and raising three kids under six. She also lends her talents as a designer and artist to progressive and political causes, including the fights for cleaner water, a less polluted climate, the rights of women and girls, and social justice.
Her wine book “The Essential Scratch & Sniff Guide to Becoming a Wine Expert” was a New York Times Bestseller and Amazon #1. The follow-up book, “The Essential Scratch & Sniff Guide to Becoming a Whiskey Know-It-All” launched in October 2015 to great acclaim and is a surefire way to take the mystery out of whiskey.
